EPIC Healthy Life ("we," "us," "our") is a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving community health outcomes by addressing social determinants of health — food access and housing stability — in underserved communities. Our programs include EPIC Nourish (food access) and EPIC Shelter (housing assistance), along with community outreach, volunteer coordination, and donor engagement.
EPIC Healthy Life offers SMS messaging to provide service-related communications, including but not limited to program updates, event notifications, volunteer coordination, donation confirmations, and relevant community health announcements.
You must be at least 18 years old or have the consent of a legal guardian to participate in our SMS program.
Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using the EPIC Healthy Life website at epichealthylife.com ("Site"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the Site. EPIC Healthy Life reserves the right to update these Terms at any time, and your continued use of the Site constitutes acceptance of any changes.
SMS Messaging Terms
You can cancel the SMS service at any time. You may opt out at any time by replying STOP to any SMS message. For help, reply HELP or contact us directly. After you send the SMS message "STOP" to us, we will send you an SMS message to confirm that you have been unsubscribed. After this, you will no longer receive SMS messages from us. If you want to join again, just sign up as you did the first time and we will start sending SMS messages to you again.

Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
As always, message and data rates may apply for any messages sent to you from us and to us from you. You will receive up to 6 messages per month. If you have any questions about your text plan or data plan, it is best to contact your wireless provider.
Use of the Site
You agree to use the Site only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You agree not to:
- Use the Site in any way that violates any applicable federal, state, or local law or regulation
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Site, its servers, or any connected systems
- Interfere with or disrupt the operation of the Site or the servers or networks connected to it
- Use automated means (bots, scrapers, etc.) to access or collect data from the Site without our written permission
- Impersonate or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or entity
- Transmit any viruses, malware, or other harmful code
Donations
Donations made through our Site are processed by Stripe, a third-party payment processor. By making a donation, you agree to Stripe's terms of service and privacy policy. All donations are voluntary and generally non-refundable. If you believe a donation was made in error, please contact us promptly at wecare@epichealthylife.com. We will review refund requests on a case-by-case basis.
EPIC Healthy Life is a nonprofit organization. Donation receipts and tax documentation will be provided as applicable under IRS guidelines.
Volunteer Participation
If you sign up to volunteer through the Site, you agree to comply with all applicable volunteer policies and guidelines provided by EPIC Healthy Life. Volunteer opportunities are subject to availability, and we reserve the right to accept or decline volunteer applications at our discretion.
Intellectual Property
All content on the Site — including text, graphics, logos, images, and software — is the property of EPIC Healthy Life or its content suppliers and is protected by United States and international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, or create derivative works from any content on the Site without our prior written consent.
User-Submitted Content
If you submit any content to us through the Site (such as contact form messages, testimonials, or volunteer applications), you grant EPIC Healthy Life a non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual license to use, reproduce, and display that content in connection with our mission and operations. You represent that any content you submit does not violate the rights of any third party.
Third-Party Links
The Site may contain links to third-party websites or services that are not owned or controlled by EPIC Healthy Life. We have no control over and assume no responsibility for the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third-party websites. You acknowledge and agree that we are not responsible or liable for any damage or loss caused by or in connection with the use of any third-party content, goods, or services.
Disclaimer of Warranties
The Site and all content, materials, and services provided on or through the Site are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted by law, EPIC Healthy Life disclaims all warranties, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
We do not warrant that the Site will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components.
Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, EPIC Healthy Life, its officers, directors, employees, volunteers, and agents shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages — including without limitation loss of profits, data, or goodwill — arising out of or in connection with your use of the Site, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless EPIC Healthy Life, its officers, directors, employees, volunteers, and agents from and against any and all claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or in any way connected with your use of the Site or your violation of these Terms.

Your use of the Site is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and protect your personal information. By using the Site, you consent to the practices described in the Privacy Policy.

Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Michigan, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. When we do, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review these Terms periodically. Your continued use of the Site after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms.
